Many people suggest that web 2.0 is only a buzzword, but that is because they are trying to define something with material descriptions that is better described as a new flow of values.

Defining web 2.0
does not have to be such hocus-pocus. All of the software applications that have come out of the wordwork are symptoms of this new focus on the Internet. The values of web 2.0 are community, interconnectivity, social intelligence, group mind, and trust. If businesses want to survive online, it is crucial that they understand these values because they are driving people’s use of the Internet in numbers like never before.

Software like social bookmarking applications, widgets, and social networking applications have come out of this need for community, not the other way around.

Internet Marketing Strategies Require Landing Pages

General, Helpful, Internet No Comments »

One topic that many businesses misunderstand frequently is how to drive visitors to their website. They often start building links to the homepage only to find months later that the conversions just are not happening.

The step they are forgetting is to drive these new visitors to a specific landing page that is not the homepage. Landing pages are important for online businesses because they are created to perform a certain function. This is different than the homepage which is more like “everything and the kitchen sink.”

So even the best internet marketing strategies are incomplete without some thought about which landing pages are being targeted. Most online businesses have several landing pages, and some have dozens, depending on the scope of services they offer.
